These Classic Patty Melts are brimming with sautéed onions, a burger patty, swiss cheddar, and Thousand Island dressing on flame broiled rye bread.


This is exemplary food at it’s ideal. I may get some distress for saying this, however I’m simply going to state it – I think this formula is BETTER than an ordinary ol’ cheeseburger. I’ll take a Patty dissolve over any burger anytime!

Serve this sandwich up for certain fries and a dill pickle and you have yourself a simple dinner that is somewhat not the same as your common burger!

Cook onions.

Soften margarine in a skillet over medium warmth. Add the cut onions. Give them a decent mix to cover in the margarine. Permit to cook for 10 minutes without blending.   • Thousand Island Dressing, optional
  • 8 slices Rye Bread
  • Butter, for bread
