This recipe comes to you via my 4-year-old. I was flipping through a magazine the other day and my son yelled from somewhere across the room, “MOM! Go back to that page please!” He’s an aspiring foodie!! I love it when I can give him a simple thing like making a recipe that he requests. And we both had fun in the kitchen together!
Here is the simple lineup. If you don’t have peppermint extract go ahead and use vanilla or almond extract or whatever you have on hand. Don’t let yourself be boxed in by a recipe!<
Everything goes in the hopper and comes out like so.
After some extra powdered sugar and some “kneading” we get this. I was very generous with the powdered sugar. It feels exactly like Play-Doh. Fun!!
Divide up the dough into 3 balls and tint. The recipe suggested red, pink, and white. If I had it to do again I may have just done 2 colors. Everything looked pink by the end.
Pretend like you are in preschool again and make “snakes.” Then smash it all together. I told you this was fun!
Roll it out and cut into whatever shapes you want. I kept using powdered sugar to keep things from getting too sticky.
- 1 – 8 oz pkg. fat free cream cheese (room temperature)
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vanilla flavoring
- 2 c white lily plain flour
- 1 c sugar
